NEWS RELEASE
Sweet Success Model of Care adopted by Crestwood Women's Center
(HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA - MARCH 15, 2011)
Women's Center at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Alabama, initiated a new program designed to help pregnant mothers with diabetes. The Crestwood Maternity Center Sweet Success Associate Program officially opened on March 1, 2011.
Sweet Success is a model for improving care for women with diabetes related to reproductive health. Management strategies for the care of women with diabetes related to pregnancy are changing rapidly. Programs must continually seek to improve the knowledge and skills of their staff to stay abreast of the changes and challenges faced in caring for mothers with diabetes. Crestwood Maternity Center Sweet Success Associate Program is a leader in seeking to improve their services through implementing a proven program.
The Sweet Success model of care is an outpatient-based, multidisciplinary education program that can improve pregnancy outcomes for mothers with diabetes and their babies. The model has been proven to be cost-effective with over $5 savings for every $1 spent on education. This model of care is available outside of California and programs that implement the proven quality model are known as Sweet Success Associate Programs. These quality services are now available at Crestwood Maternity Center Sweet Success Associate Program.
Contact information is available for all Sweet Success Associate Programs on the Associate Page, or by contacting SSEP at ssep1@verizon.net .
